Shooting Day 2: Ouija Board - Reshoot

First of all, wassup with other production blogs? You guys haven’t been updating your blogs on your film progress…is D-Extremax the only one updating? lol.

Now back to us Last week, after we shot our Ouija board scene and showed Mr Eddie the next day, he said there weren’t sufficient lightings…and he suggested some stuff. So we had to reshoot on Thursday! Unfortunately, our guest photographer was away, so we didn’t get to take much pictures, only a few. Besides, it was a reshoot night so all the stuff were basically the same stuff that we did on the Day 1. Everything went okay except a couple of things that delayed things a bit but it went well. It didn’t take long and we finished at around 11 or so. Here’s a few pictures that we took that night! Day 3 and 4 blogs coming shortly!

We found this sort of plastic thing at the car park for the dolly because the floor isn’t smooth enough.

So we tested it… hoping the thing would solve the shaky dolly problem.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t THAT smooth…because the plastic itself isn’t as smooth as we thought it would be. But it’s better than none.

Here’s our new setup. See how many candles we had to put?

And here’s what it looked like after we lit them up! We also added water on the floor as Mr Eddie suggested to add ‘glimmering floor’ effect… but damn it, we forgot to get a floor level cam shot lol. We were EXHAUSTED after that so we ended the night early and went back home. Stay tuned for the next update!

Shooting Day 1

Ok, it’s 2 am and we just finished shooting, I just got home.. need to stay up all night so I’m doing this blog and mind you, this blog is PICTURE HEAVY, there’ll be LOADS of pictures under the cut so if you have slow connection, you’ve been warned! Hehehe. This blog will be very long too.

Today we had our first shooting. I arrived at college at 6 pm, hung out at the lobby then joined Esther and Haze making our ’special effect’ makeup in Esther’s room.  It was raining HEAVILY during the day and it was still raining a bit during the night so we had to think of a backup plan fast because our plan was to shoot outside on the road.

So Esther and Haze did the ‘cooking’ for our special effect makeup.

Ewwww looks gross huh? It’s actually for our ‘flesh’ effect for Haze. I think it’s a mix of flour and glue? It’s very sticky and gooey. Really yucky. To continue reading, click below!

D-Extremax Updates

The production group schedule is out, thanks Mr Eddie for letting us know in the comment section

Yesterday we had a ’serious’ discussion for D-Extremax. We haven’t started shooting yet so we planned to shoot this Wednesday and Thursday night and hopefully no other factors would mess it up. Time is running out so we gotta move and get things going! So far we have an idea for DP Reel which will be HORROR based theme… yay! My favorite haha :P(

Main ideas - Group of people playing ouija board (you know, something like spirit of the coin) then we show the hauntings of the players… something like they started seeing ghost after playing the ouija board. No storyline but you get the basic ideas what it’s all about.

Location - There will be 4 locations to shoot. 2 indoor which will be a scene playing the ouija board, and a car park.. Outdoor will be a graveyard and an empty road. Graveyard need to reconfirm because I think Roshan or Esther knows about the graveyard but the empty road we will use the road out of school because it’s lonely right? Car park we will use Segi’s carpark and see if we can make it spooky and not so Segi-like lol And last but not least, and room, we still need to scout the room location tomorrow.

Effect.. since we can’t find liquid latex for the effect (need to order from overseas so I’ve been told) so we will try to improvise with something else and less cheaper. I’ll try to get fake blood but if I can’t, we’ll just use the cheap, low budget way of creating blood. Then tissue and PVA glue maybe?

Storyboard still in the making. Well, that’s all I think. Will update you on our production again soon Toodles!

1st Meeting

Today (Thursday), everyone was supposed to meet up at the school’s library at 11 am. I wasn’t told the meeting is just for an hour and they wanted to go for lunch at 12 pm before having class at 1 pm so it was only Haze, Roshan and Fatihah. Esther was MIA. I managed to bump into Fatihah before she left and she told me the shooting is most likely to take place at Port Dickson this upcoming Friday. Now we just need the plot, and the storyboard. Meeting on Monday after Videography class.

Camera Movements and Angles

Greetings!

Today we learned about camera movements and angles in class. Then of course we had the practical outside of class..it was fun! Hehe. Of course some of them looked bored I took some pictures and lots of long videos..hmm should I upload them? I will later though.. I’ll post in my own personal blog and post some here. The thing is, I have so many long videos, I’m not sure which one to post. Most of them are just shots of the surrounding but there’s also useful stuff when Mr Eddie was explaining how to do certain camera angles and movements.

Oh and btw, who the fuck ruined our dolly tripod??? Some nerve. They’re ruining our practical and chance to use them.. we need to fucking learn, so if they keep ruining them or even STEAL them, omg, if I catch them, they’re sure gonna get some bitch smacking from me, lol. School really need CCTV camera on for 24 hours.

Ok, to D-Extremax crew, why hosting this on my domain and not blogspot? LOL, uh… ok, I know you guys are not net and comp geek like me, hehe, so I’ll explain a bit. It makes no difference whether I host it at blogspot, my own hosting server under my domain or wherever. I decided my own hosting because it’s easier for me to edit and customized this blog because I know for sure that none of you will be checking this regularly or even posting since you told me you rarely go online, lol. But it’s no difference between blogspot or my domain. Blogspot is free hosting, this is my paid hosting.. that’s the only difference.

Oh! One more thing.. we’re thinking of going to PD for shooting.. hmmm … hopefully there’s discussion this Thursday so we can discuss. Not long now, this is already week 8 and DP reel is due in week 10.

Maybe I’ll update later for clips and pictures from today!
